Help Our Heroes

There are people who put their lives on the line to protect your life, property, and freedom. They serve selflessly, thinking only of the good of their nation and their neighbors. They are our armed forces, our firefighters, our police officers.

Unfortunately, sometimes these people and their service are forgotten, their needs unmet. The agencies set up to help these men and women and their families are often overwhelmed by demand and lack the budget to meet the needs. They are forced to set priorities, and those priorities leave large numbers of real American heroes languishing.

Help Our Heroes asks you to support these great and noble Americans. We are not a nonprofit organization looking for donations, although your donations to help manitain this website will be appreciated. We see our mission as more of a clearinghouse where people like you who can and want to help can be put into direct contact with real American heroes who need your help. This gives you the opportunity to help by direct intervention and action and to see the results of your efforts firsthand.

Don't just donate money to a faceless "cause." Give your time, your skills, whatever you can, to directly help one person who gave of themselves to protect you, your family, and your country. Requests for help are sorted by both the person's contribution(s) to the country and their state of residence, so you can choose who and where you help.

If you are a veteran or surviving dependent of a veteran in need of help, with your name, contact information, need, disability status, branch of service and veteran status, and whether your need is service connected.
